Notts Pride with the Hospice 2024

We recently took the Hospice to Notts Pride!

Staff hosting a stall at Notts Pride 2024

Our own Head of Community services, Cathie, glammed up in her best rainbow gear along with a group of kind volunteers where they hosted a stall in the busy streets of Sneinton Market. They welcomed lots of the LGBTQ+ community and allies, played games with their Wheel of Fortune and handed out prizes to some lucky winners. It was also a great chance to chat about who we are and what we do with the public, spreading awareness and growing support for our services.

Shining with pride

If you live nearby or visited the Hospice in the week before, you may have noticed we’ve been lighting our tower. To represent the multi-coloured flag of pride and the large variety of people it represents, we shone our tower beacon a different colour every night this week to let the people of Nottinghamshire see that we care for all.

Wellbeing Session

Our Wellbeing team, along with the help of some of the pride event team, even ran a themed session after Notts Pride. All staff and volunteers in the building were invited to join in with games and activities. And who can say no to some themed cakes?

Thank you

We want to say a huge thank you to Cathie and all the volunteers who helped on the day, as well as the staff and volunteers who ran the Wellbeing session. We also want to thank all of you, whether you came to Pride and spoke to our team, attended our Wellbeing session or support us in other ways. Thank you.

We want to help everyone of every background if they need us, and this was a brilliant opportunity to get the word out on how we can be there for dying people and their loved ones, along with celebrating Nottingham’s diversity and inclusion.
