Introducing Emma, our new PA
We’re pleased to welcome Emma Rolls to the hospice as the new PA to Rachel, our Chief Executive.
Emma, who grew up in York, moved to Nottingham in 2017 to study for a degree in Theology and Religious Studies at the University of Nottingham – which she completed with a Zoom graduation at the height of the pandemic.
After graduating, she did an internship at St Margaret’s Church in Aspley, where she works one day a week as PA to the vicar, as well as running a student group.
Emma said: “I heard about Nottinghamshire Hospice from a family at Church who lost a relative recently and were supported by the hospice. They absolutely raved about how great the care was and how it really helped them.
“I knew I wanted an admin job so this seemed perfect. It’s so motivating to know the things you do are contributing to all the good the hospice does.”
Emma, who started her role last week, says she felt instantly at home.
“I love it here. Everyone is so kind, helpful and friendly. I feel like I’ve settled in very quickly.”
Her role involves diary management for Rachel, taking minutes in meetings, liaising with the hospice Trustees, and other admin duties.
When not working, she enjoys socialising with friends and family and going on walks.
