Day Therapy patient Beverley Fairbanks has raised an impressive £1,239.66 for Nottinghamshire Hospice by holding a coffee morning at Ruddington Village Hall.

The money she’s raised will go towards a new vehicle for the expanding Hospice Night Support service.

Beverley, who was diagnosed with Motor Neurone Disease in April, attends Day Therapy once a week where she comes for a massage to ease her symptoms. She also enjoys meeting people and getting out.

Beverley, pictured here with young adult key worker Clair Marshall, said: “The hospice is a magical place. From the moment you walk through the door you feel special and cared for. It’s like a big comfort blanket. Nothing is too much trouble for the staff and volunteers.

“I enjoy coming here for massage and for the social side. It’s wonderful to meet people who are also terminally ill. I’ve made some lovely friends here. I’m accepted for who I am.

“I wanted to raise money for the hospice because it does such a fantastic job and really enhances our lives.”

We’re absolutely delighted and sincerely grateful for all the hard work she must have put in to make it happen. We’d like to extend our thanks too to those who supported her.”
