Hospice named 'best non-profit' in prestigious Nottingham Post Business Awards
Nottinghamshire Hospice has been crowned winner in the Nottingham Post Business Awards, scooping the ‘Not for Profit Organisation’ award at a glitzy ceremony attended by hundreds of Nottinghamshire’s business elite.
The awards, which recognise achievement and innovation across the county, were presented last week at the East Midlands Conference Centre. The Not for Profit category is judged on financial performance, cultural influence and benefit to the community.
Nottinghamshire Hospice Chief Executive Rowena Naylor-Morell said: “We were absolutely thrilled that we were announced as winners. It recognises our growing importance as a leading provider of palliative care services in Nottinghamshire and our increasing profile in the area.
“We’ve had a fantastic year with the projects we’ve been working on – including our new Hospice Night Support Service launched in November – and winning this award is the cherry on the cake!
“It’s great to have this level of recognition which is a tribute to all our staff, their hard work, dedication and the level and quality of care we give to our patients.”
The award was sponsored by the De Vere East Midlands Conference Centre and the other finalists in this category were the Maggie’s Cancer Centre and educational charity Skillforce.
Rowena added: “All the organisations represented at the awards do amazing work and I’d like to congratulate all the other winners and runners up.”
